Charity Abseil from Titan Crane
Well done to Helen and Linda for their brave abseil from the Titan Crane in Clydebank. Their fundraising total of £1000 included a fantastic donation of £400 from the Grand Ole Opry.

 

    

Enable Scotland Charity Night
Thursday 12th February 2009
A St. Valentines themed fundraising night was held in aid of Enable Scotland. The club donated £200.00 towards the overall total of £2279.00 raised. Well done to everyone who supported the event, especially all the volunteers, members and visitors, and Brian Hughes and the Lonesharks and DJ Rowdy who made sure the night went with a swing.

CHAS Charity Night
Thursday 15th January 2009
A fundraising night was held in aid of the Childrens' Hospice Charity CHAS. The club donated £200.00 towards the overall total of £1825.00 raised. Well done to everyone who gave up their time to help on the night, especially to the following artists who made sure the night went with a swing: Cimarron, Jolene and Barry, Ernie Whiteoak and The Frank Welshman Sound.

The club donated £200.00 to Cancer research and also to Diabetes UK. We also donated £100.00 to both Enable Scotland and Epilepsy Scotland. These charities held fundraising nights in the Opry during the month of November.

Zip Slide for Enable Scotland
Well done to Jamie and Helen for their brave zip slide  across the Clyde. Including the fantastic donation of £1000 from the Grand Ole Opry they managed to raise over £1460 for Enable Scotland.

Fundraising and Benefit Nights
A massive £5000 was raised for the Beatson Oncology Unit as a result of a benefit night held at the Grand Ole Opry 7th February with Texas Express and Cimarron who provided their services free.

The cheque was presented to the Beatson representative on Saturday 3rd May. Below L-R: Elsie (Treasurer), Carol (MC) and Janet from the Beatson.


Also presented this month was a cheque for £500 for Kinning Park School.
The cheque was presented to representatives of the school on Saturday 9th May by Robert Hamilton, the club's president.


Also presented was a cheque for £1000 for Make A Wish.
The cheque was presented to a representative for the charity on Saturday 30th May.

OneDay40 Album Launch night for CHAS
Raffle alone raised over £600 with 50 CDs sold raising another £100 for CHAS, the children's hospice charity. Grant's Whisky to match figure raised. 45 minute set by Brian Hughes and Alan Scobie on keyboard, two sets by OneDay40 plus Tracey Braithwaite and Steven Radzinowik. Great to hear a mix of their new album and some old Evangeline favourites leading to the Pogo finish.....welcome back boys!
